| Bio: | Hi, my name's Amanda. I'm 20 and I still have a lot to learn about life. I play the flute (and a little piano) and music is my life. I don't know if I want to teach, compose, perform, or all of the above, but I have faith that I'll figure it out. I'm in first year music at Laurier, and I'm loving it so far. I'm living with my boyfriend, Nick, and it's a good thing. I'm a vegetarian. I cherish life and believe that all beings are equal and all life is precious. I also believe in freedom of choice, and not forcing your values on other people. I am not always in control of my human compulsion to judge, but please know that I respect your decisions, and will never try to change you. However, I do enjoy a good debate. I've made some really bad decisions, but I'm learning. If I had to classify my beliefs, I would call myself a Buddhist. But I wouldn't call myself a religious person. I think for myself and live by my own values. Although the Buddha did say, "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." I don't know, Buddhism just tends to agree with me :P I used to do a lot of drugs, but I'm clean now. I have a birthmark on my face. It is a source of suffering that I cannot leave behind, but I have learned to be grateful. It has taught me some valuable lessons and I feel that I am a better person for it. I always try my best to be honest, loving, selfless, strong, hard-working, loyal, giving, kind, thoughtful, compassionate, and accepting. I do not always succeed. I am still learning how to be myself. | |||||
